QUICK STATS

Delegated Proof of Stake (DPOS). DPOS attempts to solve the problems of both Bitcoin’s traditional Proof of Work system, and the Proof of Stake system of Peercoin and NXT. DPOS implements a layer of technological democracy to offset the negative effects of centralization.

BitShares looks to extend the innovation of the blockchain to all industries that rely upon the internet to provide their services. Wherever public ledger is needed (banking, stock exchanges, lotteries, voting, music, auctions….) digital public ledger allows for the creation of distributed autonomous companies (or DACs) that provide better quality services at a fraction of the cost compared to traditional, centralized solutions.

BitShares is a blockchain based technology for next generation entrepreneurs, investors, and developers with a common interest in finding free market solutions by leveraging the power of globally decentralized consensus and decision making. Consensus technology (POW, POS, dPOS and many other current forms) has the power to do for economics what the internet has done for information. It can harness the combined power of all humanity to coordinate the discovery and aggregation of real-time knowledge, previously unobtainable. This knowledge can be used to more effectively coordinate the allocation of resources toward their most productive and valuable use.

BACKGROUND

Whitepaper Summary
White Paper is “Under Construction”

“During ongoing quality assurance and documentation improvements, we have realized unfavourable use of terminology in the published whitepapers.

As a consequence, and to reduce misunderstandings, we have taken down the old whitepapers in order to properly review them under legal guidance.”

Problem Solved
BTS expands on the opportunities that creation of BTC has provided. It is not the holders of existing shares that get to make the decision of how the vote goes or switching to another version of software, but only those “employees” who are contributing their computer resources to run the company or, as we know it, BTC and altcoins.
Competitive Edge
BitShares provides a high-performance decentralized exchange, with all the features you would expect in a trading platform. It can handle the trading volume of the NASDAQ, while settling orders the second you submit them. Additionally, BTS blockchain can store and trade with various different coins and tokens, even with coins created by users on BTS platform.
Development Roadmap
For 2017, they used Google Docs table version of roadmap, link in Resources and Links.

Trade Crypto Live Sentiment

Bitshares practices what it preaches, nobody can deny that. They also have a working product, their own decentralized exchange and great versatility in building their eco-system as users begin using Bitshares platform in larger numbers. They have had an excellent start and a good presence in the perception of the average crypto enthusiast, and a very modern operational management system which incorporates essence of blockchain philosophy. They do not yet have reach. By that we mean that they are very poor at marketing and for a “company” which depends on big market depth, that is drawback. Other than that, it is and will remain on our radar.
